hi everyone, I have a Mac mini Mid 2010 running 10.14.1 with a Nvidia Geforce 320M with some videos issues, it usually happens when I'm watching videos on YouTube or viewing a webpage or email with a lot of pictures or animated graphics on it.
When I work in Photoshop or Lightroom I don't any issues. I took a picture of the issue that I will upload shortly.
Sometimes the issue get resolved by it self or sometimes I have to do a hard reset because the OS gets unresponsive.

Is this a known issues or has someone else experience this?
I have the Mac Mini for about 3 years or so and I just start experience this issue maybe 1 month ago.

Thanks for any recommendation on this.

Luis

In System Preferences / Accessibly / Displays, is "Reduce Transparency" ticked?

Also, are you sure its a Mid-2010 Mac Mini? As officially that model isn't supported by Mojave (10.14).

yes, the previous owner install and unsorpoted OS in this Mac Mini and I have not change anything since I have it
Perhaps this is why there's an issue.. Try the "Reduced Transparency" suggestion, if that doesn't work, I'd recommend downgrading it to it's supported macOS version High Sierra (10.13).

I wouldn't trust it with an unsupported OS.

If it had High Sierra (10.13) installed and that happened I would say bad RAM or the solder bonds on the infamous nForce chipset is failing.

hi, any recommendation on where to download high sierra so I can downgrade the OS to his original version that is supported for this Mac Mini? thanks a lot

So are you back on High Sierra and are things running smoothly?

If you have an internal HDD in the machine ou could speed up the machine by putting a SSD in or if not comfortable with that you could try booting off a FW800 SSD. It would make the computer feel faster.

the issue continues with the weird graphics glitches some times, so I think I will install High Sierra during the weekend and yes, it is a great idea to put an SSD to allow the Mini to run smoother.
Thanks

I'm using an enclosure with both USB3 and FW800 connections with a 2009 Mini. Using the FW800 at the moment but if I retire the older Mini I can then use the USB3 cable with a newer Mac. Pre-2012 Minis don't have USB3 and pre-2011 Minis don't have Thunderbolt. So FW800 is the best external booting option for the 2009 and 2010 Minis.
