Well I can't seem to get this to work correctly. The quality actually sucks compared to when I hook it up with a MiniDV>VGA adapter.

Only way to fill the screen is with the 1080p option and overscan checked but half the dock is off the screen as well the the menubar and sides are clipped. Overscan unchecked leaves black bars all the way around the screen. The color quality is crap too so I guess I'll have to calibrate that.

How come I don't get a 1920x1080 resolution option like I do with the VGA connection? It only goes to 1600x900

So just connect it with the VGA adapter.

In the event that this doesn't work for you:
What model computer are you using Mini made in year what and what adapter are you using?

Is your TV a real 1080p TV or is it scaling 1080p content to fit the screen. (Please don't tell me the box says plays 1080p you need to look at the specifications and the actual resolution the TV has and what resolution is associated with the HDMI port.)

    Cheers

    Cheers

I have to set my TV to "DVI PC" on the HDMI input so it doesn't do overscan.
Of the 4 HDMI inputs, only HDMI1 can do this, and it is labeled "HDMI1/DVI."

See if you can change the label for that input. That's how it works on my Samsung.

Thanks. I'll go into my settings and try it when I Get home later.

I have 4 HDMI ports too but only tried three and they all had the same effect.

Does your mini show 1080p in the monitor settings when you hook it up? I hooked mine up to my 50 inch sony rear projection display and the mini recognized it as 1080i. My only problem is the top bar is to high to see. Have to adjust the scan rate to shrink the window a bit and then I can see the entire desktop. I also hook hdmi to hdmi.
