Mac Mini (Mojave) Time Machine FULL RESTORE to previous date is stuck for days

Hi,

My Mac Mini (Mojave) has been stuck on Transfer Information to This Mac
now for 3 days.

I have chosen which backup to restore, and it just sits there, gear spinning.

What to do?

Well, obviously you're going to have to try something else.
How about "the other backup"?

Fishrrman's "there he goes, just like some broken record again!" advice:
This won't help NOW, but NEXT TIME.... STOP using time machine and use either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper instead.
If you were trying to restore from backups created with them, there would have been fewer or NO problems at all.

One thing to try if you haven't:
1. Boot to internet recovery and erase the internal drive (completely)
2. Do as "fresh" OS install onto the empty drive
3. At setup, connect tm backup and use setup assistant to "migrate" all "migrate-able" info from the backup
