Hi,

I need to upgrade the RAM in my girlfriends MacMini (current (well, as current as they get 🙄🙄) 1.83ghz). Should I put 2 gigs in there or 4 gigs (i guess i would still only have 3...)?
Also, I have a whitebook 2.4 ghz. could i take the 2 gigs out there and put them in the mini and then get 4 gigs for the macbook? is the ram compatible?

thanks very much,

yes you could do that, I believe. i posted a link to an upgrade walk-through. hold on....

edit: The upgrade tutorial can be found here. I upgraded my old mini a couple years ago. It is a bit tricky to get the top off the mini, but actually a lot easier than i thought it would be.

The RAM is exactly the same spec in both machines so go for it.

Follow this guide, just be careful and take your time. It's quite easy once you know what you are doing.
