I am planning to purchase mac mini server with two internal hard drives. I want to use it as a server but I wanted to mirror those two disks... I did look though forums and I did see that you can do disk copy from one disk to another using various software. Someone did say that I can use disk utility and there is raid option, but is this raid option only for mac pro? or is it also available in mac mini with two disks? I am looking for RAID type mirroring, does not have to be with hardware if mini does not hae one but software raid would be just fine... Please let me know what are my options to set something like that.

OS X Server (and client) support software RAID. It is configured using Disk Utility. The most straightforward way to implement it is to boot from DVD, configure your RAID array and reinstall the OS. If you have a Mac mini server, you'll need an external DVD drive or equivalent.

Mirroring is Raid 1. Under Disk Utility you just select a HD, go under RAID, name the RAID to whatever, RAID type select: Mirrored RAID Set, click the + and add the two hard drives in the box, then click create
