These 5400RPM drives are really slow, topping out around 100MB/sec however your SSD should run at around 500MB/sec. you right i did read that earlier. And yes I have it set up so my SSD is running OS and the other is just a back up

so you'all know I had no luck with mini #2 got Mavericks in but failed when i tried to update it several times. One HDD will not format even to it says its ok so going to swap it out. Stay tuned for breaking news , up dates at 11
