After updating to 10.13.2, my Mac Mini started showing up as an audio option on my iPhone (11.2) when using the phone for calls.

I use the Mac Mini for security cameras and a weather station, not audio or video.

I have Bluetooth turned off on the Mac Mini and so Continuity it turned off (checked anyway).

I also checked the accessibility and it is set on automatic.

I am assuming the phone is seeing the Mac Mini via wi-fi since Bluetooth is off.

For years, the Mac Mini or any other computer has never shown up this way and my other 10.13.2 computers do not show up either.

It only happened after updating Mac Mini to 10.13.2.

Have you checked the iMessage and FaceTime peferences on the iMac? Is your phone number linked with those apps? Also check if the option for calling on other devices under the phone tab on your iPhone is switched off.

Thanks!

All of those are not active so still no go.

I have three other Macs running 10.13.2 and they do not so show up on my iPhone phone speaker option list and have iCloud, Messages, Bluetooth, etc. turned on there.

I have been trying to turn off iClould to see what happens but have the frustrating cannot turn off Find My Mac at this time error.

Do the mac show up as a speaker in any other circumstances (like for example in the music app)? Maybe there is an airplay server running?

no...just checked that too...I do have Airplay throughout my house via Airport Expresses but it does not show up as a speaker.

I did log out of iCloud finally...will see if that does it.

Thanks!

Okay...turning off iClould removed it from my list.

However, none of my other 10.13.2 Mac with iCloud on show up.

Why would a Mac Mini be different?

I noticed the same thing recently

This is so strange because I'm having the same thing, but I can't make calls from any other Macs and it's really annoying! They just say call failed.

Do you have other Mac minis on your network? Or different models? Is the Mac that was showing up on ethernet or wifi?

Only my Mac mini has the problem.

I have a 2010 Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, and an iMac on the same network without any issues. Two are wireless as is the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro is on ethernet. All are 10.13.2.

Turning off iCloud on the Mac Mini was the only way to repair the problem.

I have not turned it back on as I do not need it for that unit.

I thought this was was handing off iPhone calls to other devices. I just noticed yesterday that I can do this with my iPad Pro.

I will try this on my MBP later today. However on my iPad if I am making a call on my iPhone and my iPad is unlocked I can switch the call to my iPad. I am guessing that you have something similar going on with your Mac Mini. It's a feature not a bug.

With Continuity turned off, should this still be happening though? Why is it with just a Mac Mini with Continuity turned off?

I don't know about the Continuity part being turned off how it should function.

Is it possible you leave your mail server logged in all the time? What happens if you log out, do you still see the Mac Mini as an option on your iPhone? With my iPad, it has to be unlocked before I can see it as an option.

Okay...now my 2010 Mac Pro is showing up on my phone. The only way I removed my Mac Mini was turning off iCloud.

I cannot do that on my Mac Pro.

How do I remove the computers from my phone list...my MacPro does not even have a mic.

I have turned off Handoff, etc.

Here is what I am trying to remove...the Mac Pro from the audio option list:

While driving, I noticed even while I was miles away from my MacPro, it still showed up as an option. Once I got to work to an iMac running 10.13.2, the iMac showed up.

Odd that even 20 plus miles away, my home MacPro would show up! I even restarted my phone to see if it would change, it did not.

Okay...I think I figured it out:

Under Celluar > Wi-Fi Calling (I had it turned off completely), you need to turn it on and then turn off all of the devices there and leave the Wi-Fi Calling setting "On."

Apparently, turning the option off completely does not work.
