Hullo all - my mini has just started doing the first annoying thing it has ever done - the fan is squeaking. It's an early 2009 mini, bought the day after they were introduced. It just started emitting a high-pitched squeaking a day or two ago. I normally have my room extremely quiet, and one of the things I love about the mini is how quiet it is, but the quietness makes the squeaking all the more obvious. Any ideas of what to do? I was going to take it into Apple, but what with it being Christmas week and all, I'm not going anywhere near the mall. I would just put a little oil in the bearings (my father rebuilds pianos for a living, and he has all kinds of lubricants and oils out in his shop), but I don't want to do anything to invalidate my AppleCare. Should I just deal with it and wait until next week and take it in?

U can't lube these types of fans since some are sealed. Best bet is to just take it in to Apple to swap out fans.
