Hello to all,

I have an upgraded Early 2006 Mac Mini core solo (upgraded to a 2.0GHz C2D with 2GB RAM).

It currently has an UJ-845 Superdrive and a 80GB HDD that I would like to upgrade.

I was curious to know if I could put 2 HDDs in there and remove the superdrive.

I know that might not be possible, but I was hoping to do it anyway. I was able to get the Mini to use the Apple external usb superdrive, so now it's just down to increasing the storage. Or, is it possible to use a HDD that's lightly larger than the 2.5" drives normally used (if the superdrive is removed) to further increase storage?

Suffice it to say, I think this machine is going to become my main machine and have to find ways to transfer my data and still have it all stored on the internal HDD. I could use an external, but I really don't want to.

My current iMac has a 3TB HDD and I have 1.5TB free. So if I could get 2TB into the Mini, then that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

OK, so I did some more searching and found that there can be two HDDs in there. So alright then and now I'm going to say that this is resolved.

That's a bonus then that it's already been done even though I can't afford it at the moment!
