Mac Mini + UWQHD display??

Hi,

I'm wanting to switch to a setup where I have an UWQHD display, a Mac Mini (for work) and a gaming PC. I'd connect both to the display and toggle the inputs when I want to switch from one to the other.

However, from what I can tell, both the 2012 and current Mac Mini can't run 3440x1440 at 60Hz. Also which input would I need to use to connect the Mac Mini to the display? HDMI or DisplayPort?

Is this true?

Yes, I did check the specifications on Apple's site, however I've read on this forum that someone has it running at 60 Hz. So I was somewhat unsure.

I'm thinking of waiting until the next Mac Mini as we shouldn't be far away now.
