I've had my Mac Mini for about 9 months now and have never really had any issues with it at all... it just works.

Yesterday though the video display just disappeared. Gone. Dead. Bye Bye. The mini itself was still running, and it wasn't sleeping (light was solid, not pulsing). It had been on and running for about 5hrs, which is typical. Suspecting the monitor, I plugged it into another PC and it displayed OK. So its defintely the mini. I did a hard reset on the mini, and video was restored OK.

I was hoping that it was just a once of anomolly, but 5 mins ago... same thing. This time it had only been on for an hour.

I'm going to try resetting the PMU, in case there is some corruption somewhere.

Has anyone else ever experienced something similar?

How well is it ventilated?

Could it be the video card is overheating?

(I dunno i don't have a mini)

It is pushed towards the wall, with only the cables at the back giving it about 1-1.5" clearance. I'll pull it away and see if that helps.

I've reset the PMU and, fingers crossed, it hasn't died yet.....
