I've just ordered the Mac mini with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. Have I been too stingy? Should I've paid 500€ more and gone for the Pro?
Here's what I'm going to do:

As a professional musician (composer & performer) and music teacher, I use mostly:

- Office (Numbers, Pages)
- Finale (going to switch to Dorico), also for creating large orchestral scores. I do use the playback function and plan to use bigger, more recent sound libraries in the future.
- Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro mainly for YT videos of my music and performances (this is not daily use, though, and the videos are not highly complex either).
- Photoshop & sometimes Illustrator mostly for publications (e. g. musical examples, illustrations).

Considering taxes (since I use the device professionally), I'd effectively pay 300–400€ more for the Pro in the end, probably. Furthermore, I'd get more money back when selling the Pro after a couple of years. On the other hand: Would the Pro really make a difference for me?

Up to now I'm using a 27" iMac 2015 with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB. It has become quite slow even when only working with notation software (Finale), Photoshop I almost can't use anymore.

Thank you for any advice!

M4 mini is a beast for everything you do. The pro is really overpriced for many folks. You’ll be very happy with the M4 over your Intel Mac.

500€ is a lot of money.
