Earlier today I was moving my mac mini up to my cabin and my mac mini was in my backpack. It fell out and landed on the cement floor. :( Now when I plug it in and press the power button, the front white LED turns on solid and it sounds like the hard drive spins up but the CD rom drive doesn't make its usual sound nor does it play the startup chime or show a grey screen. It's just black and sits there.

I tried to reset my PMU as it said on the Apple site and when I let go of the power button after holding the power button and plugging in the power, the fan that pushes air out of the rear just goes at full power and the front LED turns on and it just sits there. Hitting the power button again does nothing. If I try to turn it off by holding the power button after I have tried to turn it on regularly it will still turn off.

I took the cover off and checked all the connections including resetting the RAM, but nothing. I'm planning on bringing it to the Apple Store the beginning of next week unless anyone has any ideas. It has no visible damage inside or out.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

To me at least sounds like the classic case of a dead hard drive! I had the same thing happen to me with my iBook G4, I dropped it and then I had no boot and no hard drive either!

Sorry man that sucks, I hope you backed up your data!

All fixed! It was actually the processor. It had came half out when it fell. So I just had to take the motherboard out and reseat it in the slot. Now all is good! I am even posting from it right now. Thanks for the suggestion!
