As mentioned, newb to mac - wanting or thinking about bootcamp so I can still do a bit of gaming (or at least use the ones I still play at present - Civ 4, Total war etc) - thought about a vm but have to pay for these correct?

So what are the pitfalls - have read some stores about windows potentially wiping OSX, casuing real probs in the wrong hands etc.

What things would I need to watch out for / avoid using bootcamp - opinions, options

Don't use any disk utilities while in Windows.

Stay away from Disk Management, diskpart, GUI Format, format, fdisk. Be VERY careful with restoring full backups. Don't change partitions around.

Hmm thats it, basically don't mess with the Hard Drive layout and you should be perfectly safe.

Oh and VirtualBox is free (3D support is kinda lacking though).
