I just got a quad g5 from my son and I am new to working on Macs. He set up a login for me with the media folder on the boot hard drive. I installed a 2 tb harddrive as my secondary to use for my media. How do I move the preset media folder to the new hard drive. I found out how to do it manually for iTunes and iPhoto, but am worried about it defaulting in other programs and putting my media in the wrong spot. Thanks for any help. I have Mac os 10.4.11

As long as you have the media folder actually moved to the 2TB drive and have it recognized in iTunes and iPhoto, there should be no issue. After all, those(I think) are the only applications that matter as far as media retrieval is concerned.

Do you plan on making movies or otherwise using the Mac to create media? If so, then those individual applications defaults should be changed to reflect the desired location in which you wish to save the respective projects. The iLife collection of apps are probably the only ones you have to worry about.
