Mac OS 10.4 Quits Unexpectedly When I Withdraw A USB Device, I get the grey screen which says I should hold the power button or reset button.......
it's been happening for a while now. what's wrong? Is it because I changed my hard disk from 80gb to 120gb?

Are you just unplugging the drives or ejecting them from the finder 1st?

Also, are you running 10.4.11? 10.4.9 users reported this issue over at Apple Discussions.

Are you using a USB hub? I got the 'grey screen' sporadically when removing USB flash drives from a Belkin (Mac Supported) USB hub. Removed the hub - no more grey screen.... was running tiger at the time, maybe I should try again now i have leopard....
