So I'm working on setting up a Mac Mini G4 with Leopard. I'm using software update and it complains that it times out retrieving updates. Internet works on this machine, so I don't understand why it's doing this. I've included pictures of the error dialogue and the updates. Are these necessary or not? I don't use Safari, Java, or iLife on this machine (and even if I did it would be iLife '06, not '09 like the update says it's recommended for.)

This is very strange. I'm used to Apple moving things around and breaking download links, but I can't find two of the three things you're looking for anywhere.

Here's the iLife update.

Java Update 5 for Leopard is missing in action, but I found a later update. I'm not sure you'll be able to use that one though; IIRC the Java updates for older versions of OS X have to be applied in order. I'm not sure about that though, so if Java is important to you, give it a shot - it won't hurt anything to try.

Safari 5.0.6 was the last update to Safari for Leopard, and you're probably gonna want that one if you're planning on running Leopard Webkit. But I can't find it anywhere, which is really, really strange. Even searching the internet archive brought back nothing.

I didn't spend a lot of time on this, so a more intensive search might turn up what you're looking for. Please share if you find them, you won't be the last person looking for these updates.

Ok, thanks! I will continue looking and post links to the updates in the Leopard Thread if I find them.
