The imac i have has a 4gig drive and when i double clicked the quick time icon on the freshly installed mac os 9.2 a error comes up saying not enough free space. Well the guy at the mac store where i bought the mac os 9.2 cd said these imac g3 233mhz, 32mb ram, 4gig drives origally came with mac os 9.2. Well how do u install programs if theres not enough free space.

Depends entirely on what else you have on the drive.

If you go to the icon of the hard drive and hit "Get Info" (Command-I) what does it say about space available?

Also, if you are inadvertently attempting to install or decompress a program onto the CD instead of the hard drive, it will report that there is no space.

Your iMac originally shipped with Mac OS 8.1, but it's not important.

Are you sure the startup disk is the hard drive and not the CD?
The boot disk icon will be top-right on the desktop.

You can change the startup disk by selecting the Apple-menu, then Control Panels, and then Startup disk.
