Hi, can you please advise me. I have the latest MacOS Mojave installed on my MBP Mid 2015 and I want to install MacOS Catalina on an external drive, but I can't download the disk image from the App store, the attempt to open it ends with this window. Don't know what the problem may be? Thank you.
This worked for me

Ah, yes, I did try that script -- yesterday. Did not work for me at that time. I confess to not trying it later in the day yesterday.
And, now, this morning, the script all works, and I can copy/paste the individual lines, and those work too. The App Store launches as you should expect.
Looks like Apple turned "something" back on. Definitely was not working when I tried several different methods to use the App Store to download system installer apps yesterday, but everything seems back to normal now.
@bogdanw - thanks for your help, I had not tried that kind of script before, and it is something that I will continue to use. (I seem to be downloading versions of macOS/OS X installers more often than I would like, that script may save me some time... )

I can confirm, the web links and App Store links are all working again. Or they are for me. Apple fixed whatever their issue was.

I've updated the script to use Apple's internal url scheme (itms-apps), rather than http. It can be saved as an App from the Script Editor and run when necessary :)

Today I tried the links on the App Store and everything works flawlessly again. I used the Chromium browser to open the link to the pp Store.
