But I live in Japan and I am British so my question is, can I simple change the language or is it a full re-intall of the OS? If so do I have to buy the OS?

J jlsniu macrumors newbie May 16, 2006 7 0 Jun 6, 2009 #4 You can also go into the configuration settings after installed under System Preferences and reorder your language. Drag whichever language you want active to the top. I use it to switch back and forth to french/english
