I was noticing all the speculation about the release of Mac OS 10.7, and checked out the Buyer's Guide. The Buyer's Guide only shows hardware. I can reliably predict that Macs are updated every 8 to 10 months, but does anyone know what the life-cycle of Mac OS versions is? Can we make a reliable prediction of when the much talked about OS 10.7 would be released?

Seeing as Snow Leopard came out in August, and seeing as Apple updates the OS once every 18 months... I'd say October 2011 at the earliest, although April 2012 is more realistic.

The past few OS versions have been released about 18-24 months apart.
