If i'm running xp in parallels can I just disconnect from the internet?
I'd prefer to just flick off airport than have download something... ;)

If your windows installation is patched all the way up, there is nothing to worry about.

well idk if it is or not, it did do an install thing when I first booted it up, i was going off a pirated img file though lol, that might affect it perhaps. I turn off airport anyway when I run it, the only reason I even have is that because some games simply aren't on the mac... sigh... lol

Sorry, folks...

I got a message announcing the installation of Conficker on my Mac as well as a threat to hack into it at any time. (Have screenshot) Since-while Virus Barrier shows no virus--I have been spoofed with 12,000 undeliverable messages pouring back at the rate of 5 per minute. Network Solutions, Intego or Comcast won't help, but I am now blacklisted by SORBS and Spamhaus. The former demands a $50 fine for spamming. I CANNOT SEND ANY EMAIL. The tools I have used to figure this all out are "WhatismyIP.com" and "mxtools.com" Maybe the spoof and the alleged virus are coincidences, but I--and you--should be very WORRIED. Why WOULDN'T the Conficker folks want to be the first ones to sabotage Macs? Any help here? Have we been so exhilarated by Mac's success, ads and rumors, that we are not paying attention? I'm not a Power User, but I've been using all kinds of Macs for 15 years.

So post the screenshots. And you should be able to send email. As I doubt you host your own mail server. So you aren't the one who would be blacklisted by spamhaus, your ISP would be. Unless you the non power user runs a mail server as well?

No, Macs are not immune to, or any safer from, conficker than a PC running Windows. OS X, however, cannot be affected by said worm. A Mac booting Windows is just as susceptible to it as a PC running Windows though.

LOL, no you don't. Post the screenshot.

OS X has ZERO viruses and worms.
