Since those kinds of auto-replies are a big no-no, from a security standpoint, I really hope this isn't implemented in Mail. iphil, I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I have not had any major Tiger-related issues (with the exception of beachballs that go away on their own). I haven't had any problems with .4.2 however I guess I wouldn't necessarily know if they were system or app related sometimes, so I might have had some. Either way, things are running fine now but updates are welcome if they fix issues, even if I haven't come across them yet.
