Mac Os X 10.5 Up To Date - Macbook

Bought a macbook last month around september 16th - 20th or so and saw that the Mac Os X 10.5 up to date program is for October 1st and later computers.... My serial number still qualifies would you guys just say go for it? I had a friend that did this with the iLife up to Date program earlier this year... whatta you guys think?

I did the same thing earlier today. Apparently the purchase date field isn't verified only the serial number is.
