My point is that the hard core geeks do like to know about and deal with everything in between. How and why it works. I understand this is not for the average consumer but Apple seems to be forgetting the more hard core users when it's those same type of people that create the OS.

You as a CS user for example.. could you ever imagine actually doing professional graphic arts in a touch interface? Not with the current touch technology because it's hardly out of the gimmick phase yet. I was given an ipod touch as a gift and hardly use it because it makes me feel like a goon. I would much rather use a $100 mouse with a bazillion buttons than my hand for free.

Touch is intended to be "organic" but is far from it for myself. Seems too gimmicky and barley passable. Whats next? Some sketchy cerebral link?

I think you misunderstood what I meant by "CS" (Computer Science). I don't really do a lot of graphics work so you'd really have to ask somebody else. I assume most professionals in that field will use Wacom pen and tablet interfaces etc. . Obviously different input devices fulfill different user needs. Apple are not taking anything away there with Lion. And so far, I don't really see them taking away the possibility for geeks to look into the internals of the system either. They are just by default making it less likely to be confronted with technical stuff not related to the current job. Which I think is the right approach.

Mate, the issue has been explained again, and again and again and again and again and again and again yet there are people like Riemann Zeta deliberately lie through their teeth knowing full well that their hysteria is based on nothing more than lies.

Riemann Zeta and people like him/her are liars, professional compulsive liars unable to read a couple of pages worth of replies to find out what the full story actually is. The issue has been addressed and if they were mature adults they would let the issue die a quick death but nope we have more idiots come into this forum perpetuating the same stupid opinions by failing to read posts made in reply to the story that give clarity - yes there are people who post here who clarify what is happening (leaking stuff under NDA's for example) yet we have the same people like Riemann Zeta keep perpetuating myths.

I swear I wish there was a rule that if you perpetuate a lie after it being corrected on this forum it should earn you a 3 month ban.
