Mac OS X 10.6 Crashes when I Close lid

i recently updated to 10.6 from 10.5.8 on my MacBook, everything works fine except that when i close the lid the device crashes and doesnt turn backon when i open the lid again
helps would be appreciated

Have you tried:

Repair permissions. Verify / repair disk.
Get all the updates.
