Hi,
I have just sold my iMac 20" and i went to night to reinstall OS X. To get rid of my iTunes account info on the Mac and my hard drive thing to not be called my email address and to get rid of personal info. So after i waited for it to do the install with the 2 discs.
I loaded the computer up all my music, pictures, usernames etc where still there.
I dont want to send the computer away with all my personal info.
How do i delet my user account so that my user bit in my hard drive isnt called my email address and itunes wont have my account no more.
And that the new owner can turn it on and the screen will come up with the thing for him to put in his details for his account and user etc.
Is there just an option to reformat the whole thing so it will forget all my information.
Thanks

Did you choose the right install option? Make sure to do erase and install...sounds like you did archive and install or something.

Boot to the fist install disk, by placing it in the drive, and booting up holding the c key. After a few minutes you should be greeted by a screen that asked you to choose your language. Continue on the following screen, until you get to a prompt where it says: Please choose location to install OS X, with a picture of he Mac hard drive. Select the hard drive, and then at the bottom of the screen, there should be a Options button. Hit this, then select "Erase and Insall" from the list. Click ok, then finish the installer. When the computer boots up, it will start like a new machine.
