Hello,

As a new mac user (just over a year now) I was wondering if there were any reference material that explains the "guts" of my Mac. For instance some info on the file system, the architecture of the OS itself (why it is structured the way it is in comparison to how Windows structures itself), why programs at treated as "bundles" instead of directories with files etc. I am more interested in why things work the way they do, as opposed to how. That being said, I am looking for some generalized descriptions and not info for super technically inclined individuals, because I do not fall into that category.

Thanks.
