Which version is true - is TRIM actually working, or is profiler just displaying the drive feature mask and not the system capability (that is, TRIM support in both OS and drive)?

The system profiler on my MBA says NO to Trim support. In Lion, on the same drive, on the same MBA, it says YES.

Draw your own conclusion. Yes, it might be premature to say Lion supports TRIM based on just that.

Can anyone explain the standard for the dual-core minimum specs of lion OS?

Is there true correlation with the new OS(lion) & this standard of dual-core...

Not sure I got what you mean.

A Core 2 Duo or higher is the minimum requirement for Lion as C2D supports 64bits, Core Solo and Core Duo are 32bits.

Getting closer to getting rid of 32bit. Yay!

What's your hurry ? We have until January 19th 2038 ;)

The 2001 bug ? What was that ? (the new Millennium starts at 2001, not 2000).

The Y2K bug was not at all related to this. This is the 32 bit Unix Epoch bug. ;)

Still using those deprecated APIs - shame on you. ;)

ps: Six years ago a software maker from north of Portland redefined the epoch to be 64-bits, and forces the programmer to add a definition in order to preserve the old 32-bit time APIs. On a 64-bit platform, the 32-bit time functions do not exist - only the 64-bit time epoch exists..

Yay? That's like hearing that Ethanol is being put into all fuels (which requires around 0.4 gallons of oil to make 1 gallon of ethanol plus 1 acre of corn per 328 gallons and also drives most food prices higher in turn). Yay!

What are you going to root for when OSX is 100% 64-bit? One more step towards getting rid of 64-bit and going to 128-bit! Yay! :D

Anyone running Lion on a Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa yet? If so is it running ok? I don't want it to run slow, if it does, I'll keep snow leopard.

The days of keeping a computer for four or five years should be over. Gotta rock a new one every two years at a minimum. We need to be spending a LOT of money.

Why? I am running 10.7.5 (can't upgrade any further) on a core 2 duo iMac 24" end 2006 with the original disk replaced with an Intel SSDi240.

I( only now have some inclination to think about upgrading.
