You know how people release comparisons of Mac and Windows before they're even out of (or in) beta? I suggest doing one better! A comparison before there's any information available at all!

Interface: Mac interface has changed to Marble, Windows now looks like Snow Leopard.

Usability: Exposé has evolved to the point where you look at the icon you want and that program shows up. Windows now has Exposé.

Security: Mac is now 100% secure and even has built-in filters against Windows malware. Windows is now susceptible to Mac malware as well. Windows has new feature that asks you every time you press a key on the keyboard if you really meant to press it.

Performance: Mac got faster yet, Windows 8 requires double the RAM of Windows 7.

What do you think, pretty great eh? I'd say the total from above comes to Windows 8 gets 9/10, Mac OS X 10.7 gets 6/10.

What? half of me says you're having a massive attempt at a joke, and the other half says you're a silly fanboy, i don't know which one it is :(

Yep, have to agree, this one is the clincher :D

Apple and Micosoft team up to produce the first secure unreliable operating system ever

You have indicated that this was the correct keystroke. Type "Yes" to proceed.

ROFL! :D:p:eek::):)
Classic Microsoft fashion! Perpetrated into infinity on the Y, E and S.... ;)

They would eventually have to release a Hotfix for this.
It would probably go something like this:
"You have indicated that this was the correct keystroke. Press ANY KEY to proceed."

Then they could have millions of people calling it to inquire about the lack of an "ANY" Key...

But what are they going to call OSX 10.7 and Windows 8?
Variations of Leopards are probably done.
Windows by Numbers might stick around but let's get silly!

10.7 = Lion? Lynx? Ocelot? Wildcat?
Maybe Sylvester? Tabby? Top Cat?

Win8 = Windows 2012, the Apocalypse Edition?
Or maybe MS will start a new naming convention based upon animals like Apple did but avoiding the Feline species.

They could pursue the Canine species for example.
Windows Beagle? Windows Jackal? Windows Coyote?
Maybe Muttley? Goofy? Astro?

LOL, Funny OP

Have fun,
Keri

Windows 8 had detected you mouse has moved and must restart for the changes to take affect.

I was cracking myself up over this. The really funny part is that it's as much a joke about the people that write beta/release canditate comparisons as it is the systems themselves. :)

Your all crazy there will be no traditional OS we'll be running the iPhone OS for our desktops (and why not!). I mean really, how much time do you spend "using the OS" ? It's all about the apps.......

Storage will be in the form of a big cloud somewhere.

There will probably be more lazers around too.

Thanks for making my nose emulate an expresso machine... hot coffee smarts!

I think MS already had a "Muttley", with Windows ME. Vista was Goofy. Heck, they're all a little Goofy.

Windows Muttley. It is to laugh..:D

I predict Microsoft will be sliding into bankruptcy by 2012....so this thread is null.

I predict that there won't be a Mac OS X 10.7, because in the near future Apple will fully drop the development of regular computers and will focus entirely on their cash cows iTunes, iPhone, iPod and - if it turns out to be one as well - the iPad.

The Mac is now to the iPad what the Lisa was to the original Macintosh: You need a Mac to write software for the iGadgets, but once those gadgets have matured, the Mac has reached the end of its life. You can expect that with the iPad 3.0 at the latest.

The days of free computing are over. At least in Apple land.

Windows 8 is going to be so awesome - Microsoft will integrate "Clippy" the paperclip from Office help into the whole OS.

That way, when you're opening Firefox, he'll pop up and ask, "It looks like you're opening a Web browser, wouldn't you rather use Internet Explorer 9?"

Or, "Hey, someone just found a an exploit in IE while you were browsing - I'm sending them your personal information now!"
