As the release of the fifth major release of OS X approaches. I thought some here may be interested to see my collection of every major retail version of the Macintosh OS released so far. I have boxed versions from OS 6 to OS X 10.4. As far as I am aware versions of the Mac OS before 6 were not sold boxed for retail, but were distributed by local AMUGs.

Very Nice!

A collection that will only rise in value.

Also, good photography :)

I can remember going to MUG meetings to get new systems (3, 4, 5) on floppy disks (I started with a Mac Plus, when Word and the OS fit on a single floppy). I just came back to Mac after being annoyed by Windows for the last 10 years.

Aww, sometimes I miss those days. I remember being excited after I got a external 800k floppy drive for my Mac Plus so I didnt have to swap disks. Good Times :apple:

I still marvel how Word fit on a single floppy and as far as I can tell , it has the same functionality as it does today ! ;)

I have recollection of System 8. Perhaps tht's during my days with the dark side....

No, Word in those days was actually usable. It took MS until version 3 to make it evil.
