Hi I'm from Germany! Recently I stumbled upon a Game I used to play with my brother for hours and hours it is called Lode Runner The Legend Returns. The Problem is that it doesn't actually work on OS X so I used SheepShaver to run OS9 on my computer. So I found Load Runner on macintoshgarden.com and downloaded it. I was bringing it over to the Mac OS 9, when I realized that ".img" was not recognized by the system because a window emerged:

"The Document TLR.img could not be opened, because the application Disk Copy could not be found"!!

So I starded looking for "Disk Copy" I found one (6.3.3 to be precise) and downloaded it to the Mac OSX here you can't open it because classic mode is no longer supported on Snow Leopard. So I got into The Mac OS9 to open it via the little "unix" icon where you can access the Data on your computer and voila! I can't see the darn file. It's one of those ".smi"-files.
:(
Can anybody help me??

Hmm... I just tried launching SheepShaver on my computer and understand what you are experiencing...

In OS X, I am able to unSIT the file and mount the img file. Then, I copied all the files from the img to a new folder. I then moved that folder to SheepShaver OS9. However, when I open the folder, OS9 doesn't recognize that there's an app in there.

It's been a long, long time since I've used OS9, but I think what's happening is that it's losing its type/creator info. I totally forgot how to set that...

I know it's totally frustrating, but the thing is that i could actually mount the image on OS9, if I had the program "Disk Copy" which is ".smi" but when I try bringing the file onto the desktop of the OS9 i cant find it because it doesent even appear! strange isn't it?

thx for the help!

If I remember correctly .smi is a self mounting image file. Have you tried rebuilding the Desktop under OS 9?

I was just thinking about your original problem, ie Disk Copy. Disk Copy is a part of OS 9, by default it should be installed in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder on your Hard Drive. Is this not available under Sheepshaver?

Heey THX it totally worked I had to drag it into the disk copy window!! I thought it wasn't even there because this message appeared!! thx!

Why didn't I think of that??? lol

Were you able to get Lode Runner to work with sound? Once I managed to enable sounds in SheepShaver, Lode Runner would no longer run.

Yup everything is going smoothly!! already played for bout an hour haha:D! I had no problem at all!

No thing man! hey and if you want a good copy of Lode Runner you can get into macintoshgarden.com! they have great vintage games and apps there!:apple:

Glad to hear that it's working for you. Thanks for the Sheepshaver link. I don't currently need it, but someday soon I'll be getting a new Mac (hopefully sooner than later) and would like to run a couple of the old programs that I run on this G4 iMac, Sheepshaver will come in handy.
