    Hi There

I would like to install leopard on my macbook2,1. Will a disc bundled with a Macbook5,1 work on it?

    Thanks
    LEON

It might work, it might not, depends on how Apple have implemented the lockdown check. Either way it's against the EULA to install the copy of OSX shipped with one machine on any other machine.

The macbook5,2 is damaged beyond repair, so I won't be running duplicate copies

That makes no difference. It's not about running two copies. The software is licensed for the machine it ships with and the license is not transferable.

Thanks for pointing that out - think I must just buy a Retail Leopard, then I know it is legal, and that it works.

    Cheers
