Hi MacRumors.

My parents have recently gotten a Mac and are completely lost doing even the most basic things. I was wondering if someone could recommend any kind of tutorial software or video that would walk them through the basics? I don't think they'd read a book or the great written resource guides that Macrumors has put together, and I'd like to find something a little more comprehensive than the short online videos Apple (and others) have created.

Ideally, they'd be able to go to the Apple store for their tutorial sessions, but they don't live near one.

Thank you!

So much for "it just works"... Whoever talked them into buying a Mac because they are so great is in deep trouble now and should have made a reality check first -- and take responsibility and teach your parents how to use the damn thing.

When I bought my fist Mac, I found the lack of available books and documentation for that platform rather disturbing, and many of the illogical design choices and differences to other platforms are still very annoying. As always, I learned most of the stuff the hard way and can not honestly tell anyone that Macs are easier to use than Windows 7 or Ubuntu 10.10 machines. They're just different, that's all.

Maybe you can give them a little vacation with a visit to an Apple store as a Christmas gift?
