Mac Permissions

Hi, at my school we got brand new iMac's with Call of Duty 4 installed. However, whenever I change the settings, after I close it, it resets when I open it up again. I looked in the folder and it seems to be an issue with the permissions, but I don't have administrative privileges. What can I do?
