I have a picture I took of my granddaughter and my border collie. I somehow created a copy of the picture as it would appear as an oil or pastel painting. I do have Corel Painter IX and Painter Essentials 3 that I purchased years ago. They both work on the MAC and PC but I am not sure that was the program as I did it on the PC. Can anyone recommend a good MAC photo editing app that includes the ability to create images that resemble paintings?

I missed the MacZot special on Pixelmator earlier this year and it looked like a good app and the price was great at the time..

Thanks

You might want to try the Gimp
It is powerful and free
Not the easiest to use, but will give you a lot of flexibility

Thanks, I will look into it but I was hoping for something a little easier. I tried Corel and it has an auto paint feature, but I cannot seem to duplicate the first photo I converted, which came out great.

I don't think Seashore will give you what you want, but it is free, so it won't hurt to try

You could also check out Photoshop Elements

A pretty good value for the price
