I've just imported about 100Gbs worth of Photos from an SD card into Mac OSX Photos. It took a while but the circle timer seem to finish and when I look in Finder I can see the Photos library has a size of 100Gb but I can't view them anywhere in Photos itself - not Imports or anywhere. I've tried rebooting, rebuilding the library, updating to the latest OS but still can't see them. Can anyone help?

launch Photos while holding down the option and command keys - repair your database (this may trigger a complete check of your iCloud Photo Library)

I think I’ve figured out what it is. Somehow all the photo files on my external drive got classified as locked. If I manually unlock them I can now import them. I’ve no idea why they became locked as I didn’t do it.

Launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and use this command at the prompt

Bash:
chflags -R nouchg /Volumes/my-external-drive

Press return.

Extend path as required.
