I currently have a 2.66ghz Mac Pro 1.1, with the ATI x1900xt card. I am not a heavy gamer, but I do it occasionally - and I use Aperture, and normal browsing.

I have not really have had much to complain about the x1900xt, but would upgrading to a 5770 give me more everyday performance? In terms of browsing/how fast things render in the OS? I know that gaming would be much better.

I am also trying to figure out where my X1900XT card fits in, in terms of performance compared to the newer cards - like is there a benchmark for it that I can compare to other cards?

it wouldnt make a huge difference in every day things unless you do something that requires graphics rendering, but its miles ahead in gaming

Tom's Hardware publishes a graphics card hierarchy chart with their "best graphics card for the money" feature every month. Here is the most recent one.
