Mac Pro 1,1 on one quad core?

i was wondering can a mac pro 1,1 run with only 1 processor in it. i have done a google search and couldnt find it. thanks in advanced.
 
Someone correct me if I am wrong but, with only 1 CPU, you will only be able to use 1 Memory riser (4 slots)
