My 2006 Mac Pro 1,1, won't turnover on power on. CPUa/b overtemp lights illuminated on logic board along with only trickle power. No other diagnostic lights turn on including power on, which leads me to suspect I have a PSU malfunction.

I posted a YouTube video of the problem:

    I'd appreciate any feedback!

According to service manual it's most probably PSU. Try to remove all RAM except minimum required to start (2 sticks), all HDDs and even graphics card. If it won't help, start looking for replacement PSU.

I have a multimeter, could I test the PSU to be sure?

A very simple (but by far not complete) test would be to ckeck the voltage of the optical drive power connector. Black: GND, red: +5V, yellow +12V.

If you dont measure the right voltages, there is a good chance of a PSU malfunction. There are hovewer many other possible causes. Its not always easy to track down computer hardware failures.
