Hey Guys,
My setup seems to be a pretty common setup based on all my searches on Google so hopefully, someone has seen my issue or understands what I'm doing wrong.
So I have a Mac Pro, 2,1 that I received with GT 7300 video card running Snow Leopard. All runs fine, just out of date. So I wanted to upgrade to the newer MacOS 10.11.6 to support the latest and greatest.
So here is what I have completed so far:
Thanks for your time!

So I have a Mac Pro, 2,1 that I received with GT 7300 video card running Snow Leopard. All runs fine, just out of date. So I wanted to upgrade to the newer MacOS 10.11.6 to support the latest and greatest.
So here is what I have completed so far:
- Installed new video card GeForce GT 120 as a secondary card. No monitor plugged in. Monitor still plugged into the old card.
- Installed El Capitan with bootefi update.
- All boots fine and runs fine. Video performance is bad as expected.
- Installed the appropriate driver for the GT 120.
- Shut down Mac and plug monitor into new card.
- Boot up and after about a minute, it comes up to what should be the login screen but all I see is a blurry image of the desktop background image. No login prompt or anything else.
- I can plug back into the old video card and it works but still have slow performance.
Thanks for your time!
