Mac Pro 2009 or 2010 Woes

Hey there,
Long time reader of the forums, but in need of some advice. I'm looking to buy a mac pro, the hex core is preferable, but a tad outside my budget.

Could I buy a 2009 model now wait a few months then update as I go along? for example putting in a hex core CPU, adding a 5870 as I get more freelance work? ( using the firmware hack )

As and when the 2013 models come out, those new parts could theoretically be put in the 2010/2009 machines?

Upgrading the 2009 with hex: yes.

(If I understand your second question correctly) Using the CPUs from the 2013 into your 2009: not likely.
