    Hi, can anyone please help?

    I have a 2013 Mac Pro 12 core dual D700 High Sierra

It won't sleep. When you put it to sleep manually it wakes up again after around 5 seconds.

I've reset the PRAM, SMC, unplugged everything except the screen(s) and it's driving me mad.

I've tried booting into safe mode, and using a different user account all to no avail.

Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Robin.

The "wake reason" in your system log will tell you why it's waking.

log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"

    Post results here.

It reports this log every minute whether asleep or awake

these are interspersed with RTC (Alarm) and ARPT (Network) but these are much less frequent

After some experimenting I seem to have found the problem. I have two displays, one connected via an Apple HDMI to DVI adaptor, the other via a BENFEI mini display Port to DVI connector. Th BENFEI adaptor seems to be the problem. I've ordered an Apple adaptor in the hope that it might work better. Does that makes sensed from the logs?

    Many thanks

Think I might have solved it. If I unplug the mini DP to DVI adaptor the Mac seems to sleep fine. I think because I have a passive adaptor it is causing problems. The problem is that active DP to DVI adaptors are quite pricey and don't all offer 1920 x 1200 resolution anyway! I might slum it with one screen for now. I've cancelled the order for the Apple passive adaptor as I don't think that will make any difference.

It doesn't really make sense to me, but I can't argue against it because it fixes the problem.

    Are your monitors DVI only?

I had problems with sleep when I had Internet Sharing enabled.
