Mac Pro 3, 1 can use graphic card?

i have Mac Pro 3, 1 osx10.7.3
i want to upgrade graphic card but i don't know to use graphiccard? (no exthanel powersuply)

please help choose graphiccard for me.

I have a ATI 5770 in a Mac Pro 3,1 under Lion and was happy. Now with Mountain Lion it is better supported and the display audio works, too. So I am even happier 🙂

PS: Thinking about it: the display audio goes via USB, so the graphics card might not be involved. Anyway, I am happy

I have the stock Apple HD 5870 running in my 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 with Mountain Lion 10.8.2. I have no problems. 🙂

5770 or 5870 if you want a boot screen.

6870 if you don't need a boot screen. PC version will work in l.ion

if you want something very very fast but expensive, contact macvidcards on this site. hes a vendor and sells flashed cards on ebay i believe.
