I have a few Mac Pro 4,1 2009 desktop towers and am looking to upgrade some of the storage bays to either 8TB or 10TB. I still run Snow Leopard for the main operating system, and do most of my work inside a virtual machine. Amazon has a special on a Western Digital 10TB black SATA drive, which I am interested in using. I have read some online posts from many years ago about certain large capacity drives that were not recognized in Disk Utility. If the forum members here could please let me know what current drives with large capacities that are known to work inside these Mac Pros, their input would be greatly appreciated.
