Mac Pro 4,1 GPU Questions

I've got a stock standard Mac Pro 4,1 with the original GT 120 GPU. A friend of mine upgraded his PC GPU to a new GTX 1080 and gave me his old GTX 680.

I don't particularly want to lose boot screen etc. so thought about potentially installing the 680 alongside the GT120.

Is it worth doing so, at all? Or is it easier to either live with the lack of boot screen/flash with a Mac ROM?

You have the luck: You can flash the GTX 680 easily yourself.

Flash it is easier (for long term).
