Well a refurbished 12 core on apple is sold at 3329! Ofc it comes with 12gb of ram but it does have a one year warranty!

If you are gonna sell the GtX alone then I think you could sell it about 3000 and if ur gonna include the GtX and hd5770 then go about 3500 or a bit higher! If u put on ebay, then just let people make offer and see if u like it.

2010 or 2012 MP 5.1

Perhaps you should mention the production year too. A 2010 or 2012 MP 5.1 can make some difference in price. Never understood why a >3k computer can't show it's flying hours. Good luck selling!

Thanks for correction.... Oops, Sometimes reading isn't my best feature!

Nah could happen to anyone, but I think aside from model year, they should also put purchase date, cause he could have bought it like in december 2013. And a person with a 2010 model might have purchased his in May 2012!

Hi Guys,

Well this mac pro was obtain January 26, 2013. I did not bought the extended Warranty on it. Since I have plan on upgrading in case it goes bad in the future which I hope it does not go bad. I would like to sell it local (Los Angeles) seen people posting at other forums while ago that have order from ebay and shows up DOA. I would not like to go through that hassle. Also is there a way to speed up the performance of transferring files from SD card. My files size are always around 32GB and it takes around 20 to 30 minutes through USB2.

You mention storage in you sig, you may want to include that info in your product description. Parting with my 5,1 is something I just wouldn't do. For me, it's a great machine with lots of expandability. The Best of the Breed IMHO.

Yeah you are right it is a nice machine. I may just buy an Imac aside. I use it for everything. I been only using it for video production for the church where I attend. Couple of times I have played games on it. I am using bootcamp to load windows on the 2nd hard drive. This mac was the replacement of my 8 core 2.4GH from Apple.

You can put it on EBay as pick up only.

If you go the CL route you will probably get less money but cash in hand with no chance of scams is sometimes better.

There is at least one retailer of finished Mac systems who buys up stock in LA from cl. He won't tell you that but I know at least one. Also lots of studios looking. Be sure to list the number of CPUs prominently. A 5,1 Dual CPU machine is the creme de la creme for upgrades, even if you still have cheapie CPUs in it now

I bought a 12-core (built 2011) 2,93 GHz with 1 year warranty for 2729 EUR a month ago or so. The 3,06 (?) GHz models are considerable more expensive, but they have only slightly better Benchmark Scores. That's why I went with the 2,93…
So it's hard to tell because the difference can be so big from model to model. Best to look around on eBay & co…
