Hi,

I have a Mac Pro 5,1 (see below) running OC/Monterey that I've been using for 6+ months with no problems. Today, the machine mysteriously shut down like there'd been a power cut. It powered up again ok and I'm using it again now. Should I be worried? Is there anything I can check to get a handle on any potential problems?

All the Best
Dave

How's it handling wake from sleep?

And does it heavy GPU actions when shutting down?

How are the temperatures?

How is the voltage of the rtc battery?

Any chance it was a power flicker? If you aren't using a UPS, then a mild flicker will cause an instant shutdown. You'd notice at night, when lights are on. But during the day ... maybe check if some clocks are flashing and/or show the wrong time.

Yes, I think it was this that caused it, I noticed that a clock in another room was flashing a day or so later. I've checked all the temps and they look ok. I replaced the battery a couple of month ago so should be ok. Thanks a lot for replying
