Not sure how I can explain this...
first of all, I don't allow my computer to go to sleep at all. I just allow my HDDs to go to sleep if there is no activities for awhile.
However, every time I come back to my computer at the login screen, the computer is so slow to have any response. This almost makes me think the Mac is stoped working.
This slowness only lasts few mins and back to normal. Anyone has similar experience like I do?

I have non-flashed GTX970 and SSD occupying 2 PCI-E slots. Not sure this makes any difference.

I found out what the problem is now...
I have the PCI-e SSD in the second slot and for some reason, system will put the drive to sleep.
I took the drive out and put it in one of the dvd rom drive bay and worked without any slow downs so far.

although the SSD only has half of the speed if it was on the PCI-e slot...

Have you tried moving the PCIe card to different slots?

I understand what you mean now.

You have a PCIe SATA 3 card to drive a SATA SSD, not PCIe SSD.

And because that considered "External" in MacOS, no matter what power setting is, the SSD will be put to sleep by the OS, which cause the issue. So, move to the internal port fix this issue.

If my understanding is correct, google "keep external drive spinning OSX". There is a little software that particularly made for this purpose - Keep the external drive awake.

I am not at home now, can't upload it to you, but should be very easy to find.

    Update:
Not sure if you get the software yet. So, I upload it for you.
