My Mac Pro is taking ages to startup. The actual boot into OSX is reasonably quick, but then it sits there for anything upto 20 minutes indexing spotlight which results in the machine being extremely slow and painful use. I have the iStat menu bar and it clearly shows one of the 4 cores at 100% for a period of time before swapping to another core. Is this normal on a Mac Pro? I don't get this behaviour on my Mac Book Pro. Thanks.
